SESBASS/Biomass North

Lakehead University’s annual Science and Environmental Studies Biotechnology and Allied Sciences Symposium (SESBASS) will be held from October 17-19, 2018, in Thunder Bay. The conference theme for this year is “Technologies for a Changing World,” with a focus on biorefining and renewable energy; waste treatment; diagnosis and treatment of emerging/evolving diseases; and new technologies for food security.  The goal of the conference is to bring together researchers with diverse skills and knowledge who share common goals, and to enable them to discuss and develop projects together.

As a bonus, the 2018 SESBASS conference coincides with the Biomass North Forum, scheduled for October 16-18 in Thunder Bay.  The Biomass North forum brings together bioeconomy leaders from multiple sectors, jurisdictions, and disciplines to share their insights and to build and strengthen meaningful partnerships. Details are forthcoming on the Biomass North Development Centre website.

The SESBASS call for abstracts is now open; deadline for submissions is August 1, 2018.   For more information,  contact Dr. Brenda Magajna, phd.ses@lakeheadu.ca
